Mobile prepaid SIM cards are being regulated to ensure genuine and accurate customer records are kept. This regulation helps us to improve service quality, enhance security and prevent SIM cards from being fraudulently registered and used in their names.
All mobile prepaid SIM card customers must register their numbers as directed by the Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI).
The re-registration process requires customers to complete a Digital Identity (eID) verification. This initiative, in collaboration with AITI and Datastream Digital Sdn Bhd (DST), aims to protect customer data privacy, maintain accurate records, and prevent cybercrime.
The Easi registration will start from 2nd January 2025 until 31st December 2025.
No, the re-registration exercise will be conducted in batches. Each customer will receive an SMS notification when it is their turn to re-register.
Yes, you can register at any time via the MyDST App or by visiting the nearest DST branch.
If you fail to register within ninety (90) days of the specified timeframe, your number will be deactivated.
Starting from Day 61, there will be a thirty (30) days grace period given for you to register. During this period, all chargeable services (such as outgoing calls, SMS, Internet data access, and value-added services) will be suspended.
For clarification:
– You are given exactly 90 days to complete your re-registration.
– After 60 days, all chargeable services will be suspended if you have not completed your re-registration.
– After 90 days, your Easi number will be deactivated if you still have not completed your re-registration.
Yes, you will need to register all your Easi numbers within the assigned timeframe.
You can register your Easi number easily online through the MyDST app or if you prefer to have assistance, you can head over to any DST branches.
You can easily register your Easi number online through the MyDST app anytime, anywhere.
However, if you are not able to register online, you must appoint a representative to complete the verification process on your behalf at any DST branches. Your appointed representative would need to bring supporting documents which includes an authorisation letter, original and valid identity card of your representative and a signed copy of your valid identity card.
a) Brunei Citizens and Permanent Residents:
– Valid original yellow identity cards; or
– Valid original Brunei Military or Police Personnel Identity card; or
– Valid original Purple identity cards for permanent residents
b) Foreign Workers:
– Valid original green identity card; or
– Valid original passport and employment pass
c) Local Businesses:
– Letter of authorisation from the business owner(s)
– Registered Company: Form X and Notice of Situation of Registered Office
– Sole Proprietors or Partnerships: Certificate of Registration 16 & 17
No, only valid and original identity documents are accepted during the registration process.
If your Identity card is lost or stolen, you need to report it to the police immediately. You must obtain a replacement Identity card before proceeding with the registration process.
Please visit the nearest DST branch to notify us of the incident, and provide supporting documents such as the police report and receipt for the replacement Identity card. Note that passports cannot be used as a substitute for your Identity card.
It is strongly advised not to sell, rent, lease, or transfer your mobile SIM card to another user to prevent fraudulent use.
If you wish to transfer ownership, both you (the current owner) and the new owner must visit a designated branch in person to complete the deregistration and new account registration processes.
No, there will be no charges for registration.
For any complaints or inquiries, you can contact our DSTCare 151 for assistance.
